In 2007 a new organization was established to benefit Foster Families in the West Georgia area

In memory of the loving and giving spirit of Linda Almon, Fostering The Dream extends a helping hand to families who reach out to foster children.

Area churches and other non-profits are often able to provide food and clothing for foster families; however, beyond food and clothing, there are other special needs of these families, and the community needs a resource that will help meet these additional, sometimes overwhelming needs of foster families. Therefore, Fostering The Dream will take care of special needs of foster families, such as provide adequate housing, improve living accommodations, or meet other major needs of families who care for foster children and/or adopt foster children.

Fostering The Dream provides functional living accommodations and meets other special needs for families who care for foster children or who adopt foster children.

What is Fostering The Dream Doing Today?

Fostering The Dream Project #1: The Almon Project.

Fostering The Dream is rebuilding the Carroll County, Georgia, home of Lanauza and Linda Almon.

Almon Family 2006The Almons cared for 150 foster children during their marriage! Of those 150 children, they adopted 6, giving them a total of 10 children! In December 2006, Mom Linda passed away due to metastatic breast cancer. Dad Lanauza, nicknamed “Candy Man”, is disabled due to an on-the-job injury at the company where he worked for 20 years. His home needs major repairs to make it safe and functional for his family. After multiple inspections from certified home inspectors and builders, Fostering The Dream has decided to rebuild the home for the Almon family. This is an exciting project that will involve the entire West Georgia area, as many folks know and love the Almons, and many people want to bind together and do something great for them and for our community!
